Kevin McClure serves as a statewide content specialist with the Center for Educational Initiatives at Illinois State University supporting work for the Illinois State Board of Education. Primary duties include development and dissemination of educator systemic professional learning. As a Learning Forward Academy 2016 graduate, his work within the K-12 educational system over the last decade has included, classroom instruction, development and delivery of professional development, and district leadership and systemic consultation. Kevin has also taught collegiate coursework in child development and psychology, utilizing both physical and virtual classroom formats. Kevin is passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion, learning, and effective collaborative leadership.
With backgrounds as an educational consultant, licensed clinical professional and nationally certified counselor, Kevin holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Human Development from Bradley University. Having received advanced training regarding educational systems, continuous improvement process, pediatric psychological systemic promotion, prevention, early intervention, and intensive interventions; he has consulted for multiple local, regional, state and national organizations including the American Academy of Pediatrics – Children’s Mental Health Toolkit.
In the Spring of 2012, Kevin received Parent Support Provider (PSP) certification from The National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health and a parallel credential as a Certified Family Partner Professional (CFPP) from the State of Illinois.
